Women’s part of the competition at the EUBC Elite Men and Women European Boxing Championships is completed. After ten days of boxing in Serbia’s capital city, 12 champions among women boxers are known. Huge crowd came to Aleksandar Nikolic Sports Hall yesterday to support local boxers. They could enjoy high level boxing in a truly amazing ambience.
Serbia had four athletes in the finals, which is a great success of the host nation. They managed to win three gold medals and write the history of Serbian women’s boxing.
Three gold medals also went to the team from Russia. They also won seven silver medals and with this result secured the first place in women’s ranking.
Ireland and Turkey won two gold medals each, while Bulgaria and Moldova succeeded to win one gold medal, in the 57 kg and +81 kg weight category.
The European Championship among women boxers in Serbia was strong competition with a lot of good, experienced and decorated boxers. Some of them confirmed their class winning the gold medals, but there were also few up and coming stars who took the opportunity and shined in Belgrade. Men’s finals are on the program today, starting at 5 pm.
