After four days of boxing in Vilnius, Lithuania, the 19th Danas Pozniakas International tournament came to an end. Vincenzo Gvida, the super heavyweight from Italy, is the best boxer of the tournament. He was better than Nikita Khoknon from Ukraine in the finals of this famous tournament, defeating him by unanimous decision. Team Italy won the second place in team rankings, after Ukraine, and before Lithuania. At this year’s edition, 80 boxersfrom eight countries boxed at the Vilnius College Great Gym.
“Danas Pozniakas tournament was the main check for the upcoming EUBC Youth European Boxing Championships next month. We will participate in Porec with a massive team. We are happy because we had representatives in the finals of this tournament, and because we lived up to expectations”, stated Mr. Donatas Machianskas, the Lithuanian Boxing Federation Secretary General.
