After eight competition days at the EUBC Youth Men and Women European Boxing Championships in Porec, all the medal winners are known. 48 medals are secured among women, and 52 medals among men boxers. Championships started on 4 April, semifinals will be boxed tomorrow, and day after, on 13 April, will be the rest day. All finals bouts are on program on Sunday, 14 April.
Going into the semifinals, the team with the most secured medals is Ukraine. Their boxers were dominating this event up to now, and they will have semifinalists in 10 women’s and 12 men’s weight categories.
Regarding the women’s part of the event, Turkey is the next country with 5 medals. Greece and Italy won 4 each, and three medals went to Poland, Ireland and England. Women boxers from 18 countries succeeded to advance to the semifinals.
In the men’s competition, after 12 boxers from Ukraine, Armenia is next with 4 secured medals, the same as Bulgaria. England, Romania, Latvia and Ireland are teams with 3 boxers each that will compete tomorrow. Altogether 20 countries will have their representatives in the men’s semifinals.
