The IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in NisSerbia has come to the final stage. This Serbian city is the host of the event that started on 8 March. The competition is being held in the Cair Sports Hall, and the finals bouts are on programme tomorrow, with the start time at 5 pm.

The championships gathered 239 boxers from 51 countriesfrom all over the world, competing in twelve different weight categories. Semi-finals were boxed yesterday, on one ring in two sessions, so all the finalists are now known. Boxers from Europe won twelve bouts yesterday, and that number of athletes advanced to the finals.

Team Russia is the most successful at this stage with five boxers in the finals. Russia is the most successful speaking of European countries, but in general team Kazakhstan has the same result. Besides Russia, strong team Turkey has four finalists, Ireland has two, and Serbia has one boxer who will fight tomorrow.

Boxers from ten countries have representatives in the finals of the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, which are Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Morocco, China, Russia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
