The Montenegro Boxing Association organized a world class training camp prior to Olympic
Games qualifications, scheduled for the beginning of next month in Italy. This is nothing unusual
for Budva, considering all boxing events that have happened there during the last five years,
especially tournaments and continental championships. But this time, with this number of
countries and quality of boxers, this particular training camp is truly something special.
“In this moment in our gym we have six world champions, not to mention all continental and
world medalists”, said Mr. Nikola Ruzic, the head coach of Montenegro team. “We are happy,
proud and privileged to have such boxers in Budva. The atmosphere in camp is amazing, and
all conditions here, next to the seaside, are just like those boxers deserve. Our boxers have
great opportunities to work and develop along with world level sportsmen, and I am much
confident they will use the chance to improve, given by the President Mr. Alexander Klemenko,
without whom none of this would be possible.”
Training camp in Budva started on 16th February, and will last until 28th February. Participants
are accommodated in the 5-star Hotel Splendid, and have three different gyms at their disposal.
Altogether 82 boxers from 11 countries are attending the training camp. Besides Montenegro,
ten more countries took part: Greece, Hungary, India, Japan, Lithuania, Moldova, Serbia,
Slovenia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.
