Irish lightweight sensation, Olympic, world and European champion, Kellie Harrington is in the semifinals of the Paris Olympics. She was better than her opponent from Colombia by unanimous decision. In her next bout for the pass to the finals, she will meet strong Beatriz Ferreirafrom Brazil.

Nineteen European boxers climbed into the ring yesterday, and eight of them left the field of play victorious. In the 57 kg weight category, there will be two boxers from the old continent in the quarterfinals phase, Jose Quiles Brotonsfrom Spain and Javier Ibanez Diaz from Bulgaria. In the 71 kg, there will be Rami Mofin Kiwan from Bulgaria, Nikolai Terteryan from Denmark and Lewis Richardsonfrom Great Britain.

In the women’s part of competition, their place in the quarterfinals secured Michel Divina from France and Elzbieta Wojcik from Poland. Both of them are very experienced boxers. Divina defeated Baison Manikon from Thailand by unanimous decision, while Wojcik won the very close bout against two times European champion from Ireland Aoife O’Rourke.
