The original date of the 40th edition of the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina was August 2022 but the Serbian organizers decided to move the event to September 12-19 due to their another international competition, the Junior Nations Cup which will be held in August 9-15. The new date of the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament will guarantee the strong interest from the National Federations.
The Golden Gloves of Vojvodina is one of the strongest youth competitions of the world and the organizers are expecting record number of boxers. The event will be a preparation tournament for the upcoming IBA Youth World Boxing Championships which has the planning date of November 6-20.
As in the previous editions, the city of Subotica, in the heart of the Vojvodina region will be the host of the youth competition. Boxers who were born in 2004 and in 2005 are eligible to attend in the 40th Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament where all of the 25 youth weight categories are in the official program.
The last edition of the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament took place in September 2021 when the competition celebrated its 24 new champions during the four-days long event. Russia’s female duo such as Alina Pushkar and Maria Kuchmanova caused top sensations in the day of the finals one year ago while Serbia’s Sara Cirkovic also impressed in the last edition.
The total number of the participating nations was 15 in the 2021 Golden Gloves of Vojvodina Youth Tournament. Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, host Serbia and Ukraine sent their youth talents to Subotica.
