The 17th Silesian Women’s Open Tournament will take place for the junior, youth and elite girls in Gliwice

The 17th edition of the Silesian Women’s Open Tournament will be held in Gliwice, Poland on September 4-11. The upcoming Silesian Open will be preparation events for the upcoming IBA Youth World Boxing Championships, EUBC European Women’s Elite Boxing Championships and EUBC European Junior Boxing Championships.

The Silesian Women’s Open Tournament is the most anticipated international competition in Poland. The competition will be held for the women’s elite, youth and junior boxers in Gliwice and due to the upcoming main goals, a high number of countries are expecting to take part.

The Event Director Mr. Henryk Wilk is the engine of the Silesian Women’s Open Tournament who launched the competition to develop female boxing in Poland and in the European continent.

The first edition of the Silesian Women’s Open Boxing Tournament was still held in 2006 with the participation of a few neighbouring countries. The level of the competition was rising in the recent years systematically and the first non-European countries joined the women’s international event in 2013.

The last 16th edition of the Silesian Women’s Open Tournament delivered fantastic finals in Gliwice, Poland in September 2021. The host nation’s 19-year-old Martina Jancelewicz won a superb final on the sixth day of boxing and many of the younger hopefuls including Rogalinska, Angelsen, Ahadi, Bennama and Mueller all achieved gold medals in Gliwice one year ago.

Greece, Cyprus, host Poland, Germany, Slovakia, Norway, and the Czech Republic won the youth and junior gold medals in Gliwice. Norway, France, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Germany were the nations which bagged gold medals among the elite boxers.
