Kazakhstan is the best team of the Boxam tournament, held in La Nucia, Spain from 3 – 9 February. It was an event organized among elite men and women boxers, where 166 boxers took place. Men’s team of Kazakhstan won six gold medals, three silver and six bronze. In the women’s part of the competition, Kazakhstan achieved two silver and one bronze medal.
Bangladesh, China, Ecuador, England, Georgia, Hungary, IBA Neutral, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Palestine, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine and Wales were participating countries, while the EUBC Technical Delegate was Mr. Viorel Sima from Romania.
The second place in the medal standings went to team England. Their men and women boxers won five gold, five silver and three bronze medals. Third place belongs to Ukraine with four gold, five silver and six bronze medals.
The Royal Spanish Boxing Federation organized another boxing event at the high level. Special guest of the finals was a true boxing legend Lennox Lewis, three-times world champion and undisputed heavyweight champion.
