The city of Maribor in Slovenia is going to be the host city of the EUBC Schoolboys & Schoolgirls European Boxing Championships, 2023. The best European boxers at age 13 and 14 years will compete in Maribor from 15th – 26th August. As such, the EUBC Technical Delegate Mr. Adam Kusior and EUBC Competition Manager Mr. Dragoljub Radovic traveled to Slovenia for the Coordination Visit prior to the Championships.

This is going to be the very first time that Slovenia will be the organizer of a European Boxing Championships, even though the Association has experience in organizing big events, considering the World Boxing Tour Silver Belt international tournament was held in the same city during October last year.

The President of the Slovenian Boxing Association, Mr. Robert Reher, is very excited about the upcoming event. “We are truly proud and happy because the EUBC gave us trust to organize such an important event. This will be the first European Boxing Championships in Slovenia, and we are ready to do our best and organize this event the way it deserves. Boxing in our country is becoming more and more popular, especially after the IBA event that we organized last year, and now with this Championships we expect more kids to be interested in our sport, which is the main goal of the Slovenian Boxing Association.”
