One of the best and most visited women’s international tournaments in the world, the Silesian Open, is going to take place from 1 – 8 September. City of Gliwice, Poland, will once again host women’s boxers among elite, youth, and junior age groups. Tournament director, Mr. HenrykWilk, and his very experienced team will put a lot of effort, as always, to organize this event at the high level.
The Silesian Open was first held back in 2006, and up to now it has been organized every year, simultaneously raising the quality of the tournament. During the years, many decorated boxers participated in Gliwice. National teams, not only from Europe, but from different continents, were coming and boxing there, often preparing themselves for major competitions. Last year’s edition had 159 boxers, while the year before 245 boxers took part at Silesian Open.
Organizers are expecting a lot of participants this time, too, since some of the very important championships are coming during the last couple of months. U22 Europeans are planned for October, the same as the World Youth Championships. Besides that, the World Elite Women’s Championships is also on programme in this year.
