The EUBC Elite Men and Women European Boxing Championships was successfully completed. Belgradewas the center of European boxing during the last two weeks where the European Championships was first time organized for men and women at the same time. Men’s finals were held yesterday in a spectacular atmosphere in front of a few thousand spectators.

Sara Cirkovic from Serbia is the new European champion in the 54 kg weight category. After three wins by unanimous decision, she won her first gold medal in the elite rank, and the trophy for the best female boxer of the event. Sara Cirkovic qualified for the next Olympic games, was youth World champion and two times youth European Champion.

The best male boxer is Rami Kiwan from Bulgaria. He competed in 75 kg weight category and achieved four wins in Belgrade, defeating Russian Dzhambulat Bizhamov in the finals by split decision after the bout review.

Sergey Zhurkin from Russia got the trophy for the best R&J, while Russia is the best team in overall ranking. They won three gold medals among women and an amazing eight gold medals among men. Russia arrived in Serbia’s capital with a strong team and big expectations, and they showed dominance in the men’s part of competition. Second place in teams ranking went to Serbia, and the third place belonged to Turkey.
