Super talented multiple times European champion and Olympian Radoslav Rosenov from Bulgaria is crowned the best male boxer at the EUBC U23 European Boxing Championships, held in Sofia from 10 – 20 October. He achieved five amazing wins during the competition, winning all of them by unanimous decision. His countryman in the 75 kg weight category, William Chollov, lost the final bout against Dzhamal Kuliev from Ukraine.
Men’s team from Ukraine is the most successful at this competition. Yesterday they had six finalists, and won five gold medals. Champions are: Danyl Zamorylo (63,5 kg), Danylo Lozan (67 kg), Yurii Zakhariev (71 kg), above mentioned Dzhamal Kuliev (75 kg) and Vasyl Thachuk(+92 kg).
Second place went to team Ireland, who had two champions and three bronze medalists. Louis Rooney (48 kg) and Patsy Joyce Thady (54 kg) defeated their rivals both by split decision, and became new European champions.
Armenia took third place in the men’s competition. They had four boxers in the finals, but only Rudolf Garboyanwon the contest. He competed in the 51 kg weight category.
Besides Radoslav Rosenov, and other gold medal winners from Ukraine, Ireland and Armenia, European champions also became Gor Ayvazyan from Georgia (57 kg), Cesar Yojerlin from France (80 kg), Teagn Stott from England (86 kg) and Yasar Emrah from Turkey (92 kg).
