From 12 – 19 May, junior male boxers from five countries are boxing in the capital city of Azerbaijan. The President Heydar Aliyev Cup is being held in Baku. Boxing started on 13 May, and will last until 18 May, when the finals bouts will take place. The EUBC Technical Delegate is Mr. Piotr Vinnik from Belarus.

The tournament was held last year for the first time after 2019. The LOC made this break because of Covid-19 pandemic. President Heydar Aliyev Cup is organized in all 13 junior boys weight categories, and this year 116 boxers from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are participating.

This is the second international tournament in Azerbaijan this year, after the Great Silk Way, an elite men and women competition held last March. The Azerbaijan Boxing Federation covered accommodation, meals and ground transfer expenses for all participants.
