The first international tournament that will be held this year in Azerbaijan starts tomorrow. Preliminary bouts at the Great Silk Way, an international tournament among elite men and women, will begin at 2 pm. The venue will be The Boxing Center within the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation office building. This event was first organized back in 2007, but the last edition was in 2019.

Mr. Dragoljub Radovic, the EUBC Technical Delegate from Montenegro, has run the Technical Meeting and Official Draw, confirming that 121 boxers out of 11countries will take part. Athletes from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will box in 13 men’s and 5 women’s weight categories. No doubt that the biggest name at this competition is Bakhodir Jalolovfrom Uzbekistan, who was Asian, World and Olympic super heavyweight champion.

One ring will be used for the whole event, starting at 2 pm local time every day. All the men’s finals bouts will be on Thursday, 28 March, while five women’s finals will be held one day earlier. The tournament will be streamed live on the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation official YouTube channel.
