The Platinum Arena in Khabarovsk was the venue of the international boxing tournament in memory of the hero of Soviet Union Konstantin Korotkov. The event was held from 14 – 20 April, in 13 men’s and 6 women’s weight categories among elite age groups.
140 boxers from sixteen countries took part in the city of Khabarovsk, located in south-eastern Russia. This year’s edition was 48th since the beginning, and it was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the great victory in World War II.
The most successful team among women was Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Their boxers managed to win four gold medals, while two more went to Russia and Uzbekistan.
In the men’s part of the competition, the Russian team dominated. They have eight champions. Team Uzbekistan won the gold medals in the 63,5 kg, 75 kg and 86 kg, while Kazakhstan won gold in 54 kg and +92 kg.
