The Golden Belt Nicolae Linca International Boxing Tournament among elite men and women was held in TarguMures, Romania from 12 – 16 June. Eleven countries took part at this traditional tournament. Romania, Egypt, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Moldova, Mexico, Poland, Serbia and Wales boxed at the Polivalenta Sports Hall, where the local audience had a chance to watch some of the ex and future Olympians.

The best national team in the overall competition is team Italy. They arrived in Romania with a very strong team, and managed to win six gold medals out of seven boxers. The champions in Targu Mures became: Diego Lenzi, AzisAbbes Mouhidine, Slavatore Cavallaro, Alessia Mesiano, Irma Testa and Angela Carini. Second best team is Ireland. They won three gold medals and one bronze, while the third place went to Moldova, whose boxers won two gold and two bronze medals.

Tournament was traditionally very well organized. The Romanian Boxing Federation has a very experienced team who showed their abilities many times in the past, organizing many international tournaments and continental championships.
