The EUBC U23 European Boxing Championships in SofiaBulgaria started yesterday with the technical meeting and official draw, and the first bouts are on programme today. 327 athletes from 35 national teams will fight for the medals, but those who reach the quarterfinals will have the money prizes, too. The International Boxing Association will again support the boxers with significant money prizes, which is nothing new, since the IBA awarded its athletes at the competitions for different age groups during the last four years.

All boxers who advance to the quarterfinals will be awarded with the money prizes. Quarterfinalists will win $1000 each. Bronze medallists will win $2000. Vice-champions will be awarded with $4000, while the champions will get $8000.

‘Support that we have from the International Boxing Association and the President Umar Kremlev is very important for the whole EUBC family, and especially for our young boxers. We are thankful for this sponsorship from the IBA,’ stated Mr. Kirill Shchekutyev, the EUBC Secretary General.
