The Great Silk Way international tournament is back on the European boxing map. After five years of break, the event is going to be organized in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 23 – 29 March. This elite men and women competition was first organized back in 2007, and this will be 12th edition. The EUBC Technical Delegate is Mr. Dragoljub Radovic from Montenegro.

The Azerbaijan Boxing Federation will be responsible for accommodation and meals expenses of all participating national teams. After a couple of years of break, in 2023 they started reorganizing two international tournaments, Heydar Aliyev Cup, among the juniors, and Abbas Aghalarov Cup, among the youth boxers. They expect a high quality of boxing at this tournament, since this is organized in elite age class.

Technical Meeting and the Official Draw is planned for Saturday, 23 March. Boxing will start with the preliminary bouts on 24 March, and the finals will be on Thursday, 28 March. Elite men will compete in all 13 weight categories, while elite women will fight in 48 kg, 50 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 66 kg and 75 kg.
