The 73rd Gergely Bornemissza Memorial Tournamentwill take place in Eger, Hungary from 12 – 18 May. This is one of the oldest European boxing tournaments, traditionally organized among juniors and youth age groups. For the first time, the 2024 edition will include schoolboys and schoolgirls boxers. The tournament is named after a Hungarian hero Gergely Bornemissza who fought against the Ottoman Empire in 16th century.
This event is recognized worldwide as one of the strongest among junior and youth age groups. Many world’s top boxing nations participated during the last years, while the Hungarian Boxing Association every year put a lot of effort into organizing this tournament at a high level.
Technical Meeting and Official Draw are planned for 12 May, boxing days will be from 13 – 17 May, and departures are on 18 May. Livestream will be available on the Hungarian Boxing Association official Facebook page.
