The EUBC Elite Men and Women European Boxing Championships is going to start in a few days. Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia, will host the best boxers in elite men and women competition. Technical Meeting and Official Draw will take place on 17 April, while the first day of boxing is going to be one day later. The EUBC Technical Delegate will be Mr. Viorel Sima from Romania.
Belgrade will be the host of the major boxing event for the second time in a short period of time, taking in consideration the IBA World Boxing Championship that was organized at the end of the year 2021. The city that lies on the rivers Sava and Danube has lived up to expectations, so the Serbian Boxing Federation has got another opportunity, this time at the European level.
According to the registration, over 400 boxers among elite men and women are expected to participate in Belgrade. Athletes from 35 countries, including one IBA Neutral team, sent their registrations. Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, IBA Neutral, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey will take part in 12 women’s and 13 men’s weight categories.
