EUBC continues to lead the way with providing the best opportunities for boxers of all ages. The EUBC Schoolboys and Schoolgirls European Boxing Championships 2023 will be the 20th edition of the school-age, 13 and 14 year-old boxers, championships on the continent. The occasion will be celebrated with participants from thirty registered countries, which is the highest number in the last six years. Altogether 385 boxers, 261 boys and 124 girls are scheduled to participate in Maribor, Slovenia. The event is scheduled to take place from August 15 – 26, and this is the first time in history the Slovenian Boxing Association will organize the European Championships for any age group.

The same competition was held in Erzurum, Turkey in 2022, and in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2021. The national teams registered for the 2023 Championships are Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, England, Spain, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Slovenia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine.

The EUBC Technical Delegate for this Championships is Mr. Adam Kusior from Poland. Male boxers are going to compete in sixteen weight categories, and female boxers in thirteen weight categories. The first day of the competition will be August 17, at the University Sports Centre Leon Stukelj and the finals bouts will be on August 25.

The President of the Slovenian Boxing Association, Mr. Robert Reher, is very pleased that he and his team have the privilege of hosting the SBG (schoolboys and schoolgirls) championships 2023. “It is a great milestone for EUBC, and as a relatively young and smaller NF, we are delighted that we have been entrusted as the host of the championships on its 20th anniversary. We are excited about the response by the countries which registered and we give assurancce that there will be great conditions for all participants. It will be an amazing event. Everything is being prepared and we await the arrival of teams and officials”.
