The Boxam International Boxing Tournament 2023, held in La Nucia, Spain brought together 132 boxers from 14 countries. This event was organised by the Boxing Federation of Spain for the junior boys & girls, youth men & women, and U22 men & women age groups. The competition lasted five days, with the final bouts boxed on Saturday 20th May.

Altogether 98 bouts were on program during the tournament. The most contested age group was the youth men with 47 boxers. The traditionally good organization of the competition in Spain wasn’t any different this time. Participants had the opportunity to enjoy Benidorm, one of the most beautiful places on the Mediterranean coast.

Besides the host country Spain, the largest team was England with 20 boxers. Romania, Puerto Rico and Wales also participated with the big teams, and succeeded to achieve good results. The Technical Delegate was Dragoljub Radovic from Montenegro. The judging at the tournament came in for praise from the participants, as well as the hospitality and organization.

England was the most successful national team of the tournament with 14 gold medals. Spain and Wales won 6 each, while Romania won 4. Belgium and Netherlands won 2 gold medals each, and Czech Republic took 1 gold medal. The best boxers among juniors were Viktorie Jilkova from Czech Republic and Yolber Daniel Bendomo from Spain. The best among youths were Maud Van der Toorn from Netherlands and England’s Owen Ketley, while the Spain’s Carmen Gonzalez and Salvador Flores took best boxers awards in the U22 division.
