The Official Draw was done at the 19th Danas PozniakasInternational tournament. This year 80 boxers from eight countries will participate in Vilnius. The tournament is organized for youth men and it will be boxed in all 13 weight categories. Lithuania, Moldova, Estonia, Wales, Italy, Latvia, Poland, and Ukraine take part this time, while the host nation will represent 21 boxers. 

First day of competition was Wednesday, 13 March, and the finals will be on Saturday, 16 March. The venue name is The Vilnius College Great Gym. All bouts from 19th Danas Pozniakas will be streamed live on the Lithuanian Boxing Federation’s Facebook page.

Danas Pozniakas (1939-2005) became Lithuania’s first Olympic champion in 1968, in Mexico City. He won the European Championship three times (1965, 1967, and 1969), he was the Vice-Champion of Europe once (1963), and the former USSR’s champion four times.

In 1995, Danas Pozniakas was named the finest Lithuanian boxer in the previous 50 years and the third best Lithuanian athlete of the 20th century. He competed in 217 fights, winning 203 of them. Danas Pozniakas ended his career in 1970.
