299 boxers confirmed for EUBC U22 Championships
The EUBC U22 boxers are ready to match fists and wits against each other at the U22 Men and Women European Boxing Championships which takes place in Budva, Montenegro from 12 – 19 November. They will vie for medals and prize money, and there is no doubt that the event will be action-packed.
Thirty-four teams with 299 boxers (202 men and 97 women) are in Budva. The participating teams are Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, IBA-Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and IBA-Neutral.
The Technical Meeting and Official Draw were led by Technical Delegate Mr. Sergey Berdnik and EUBC Competition Manager Mr. Dragoljub Radovic. President of the Boxing Association of Montenegro, Mr. Alexander Klemenko, warmly welcomed all teams and officials. He promised a great event and stated that he and his team are very happy to host yet another EUBC championship.
Speaking on behalf of EUBC, Secretary General Ria Ramnarine thanked the LOC for stepping up quickly and confidently to host the championships. “Sincere thanks to Mr. Klemenko and his highly competent team, as well as the local authorities for their continued cooperation and support”. She also thanked IBA’s President Umar Kremlev and IBA for undertaking to provide prize money to the eligible medallists and quarterfinalists of the event. The prize money distribution will be gold medal – USD8000, silver medal – USD4000, bronze medal – USD2000 and quarterfinalist – USD1000.
The opening ceremony starts at 13:30 on 12 November at the Mediterranean Sports Hall, Budva and will be followed by one session at 14:00. Thereafter, from 13 to 17 November, the sessions will start at 14:00 and 17:30. The grand finals will take place on 19 November at the Sport Hall Moraca, Podgorica starting at 12:00.

Budva is ready for EUBC Cup 2023
The site visit for the first ever EUBC Cup was a success. Technical Delegate for the event, Mr. Franco Falcinelli, declared that the city of Budva, Montenegro is ready for the prestigious event. After meetings with the President of the Montenegro Boxing Association and the Local Organizing Committee, Mr. Alexander Klemenko and his team, the very experienced Falcinelli provided the following statement.
“I am very satisfied with the hotels, venues, and overall organization plan. The LOC has produced some of the best boxing events in Europe in previous years, and I am confident that they will also ensure that the EUBC Cup 2023 will be properly organized. Their plans to hold the finals outdoors in the Budva’s Old City will make it even more memorable. The support of the Municipality and Interim Mayor, Mr. Nikola Jovanovic is excellent. I have no doubt that the first ever EUBC Cup will be an exemplary event”.
Mr. Falcinelli spoke on behalf of EUBC’s President Dr. Ioannis Filippatos, and thanked him for guiding the EUBC in its current direction.
He also highlighted the role and support of IBA’s President, Mr. Umar Kremlev who proposed the the EUBC Cup, thus giving dignity and excellent opportunities for the boxers.
Mr. Klemenko thanked Mr. Falcinelli for his vote of confidence and stated that he and his team will work according to the recommendations and requests made by the esteemed Technical Delegate. The EUBC team was hosted by the Interim Mayor Nikola Jovanovic, who pledged full support for the EUBC Cup. Mr. Jovanovic assured everyone that they will assist in every way possible.
The much-anticipated event will take place from 06th – 15th October, for the Elite Men category. The support of IBA and the attraction of prizemoney and assistance (coverage of accommodation and meals) for the participating teams predicts an exciting and highly competitive atmosphere with many boxers.



26 countries with medals at the EUBC Schoolboys&Schoolgirls European Boxing Championships in Maribor!
EUBC Schoolboys&Schoolgirls European Boxing Championships in Maribor, Slovenia came to the end. Of the 32 countries that came to Maribor, as many as 26 won medals! We are very happy that so many countries won medals, it means that the development of European boxing is going very well.
The first place in the ranking was taken by the team from Ukraine – they won a total of 20 medals – 9 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze. The second place was taken by the team from England – they won a total of 12 medals – 8 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze. The third place went to the team from Armenia, winning a total of 13 medals – 2 gold, 4 silver, 7 bronze. The best schoolgirl boxer was Rumiantseva Anhelina from Ukraine and the best schoolboy boxer was Flemming Jashua from England.
The finals at the 25 August were held in two sessions – the first from 14:00 – girls in 13 weight categories, the second from 17:30 – boys in 16 weight categories.
In the venue – University Sport Center Leona Stukljathere was a great atmosphere during the finals! Organizers – Slovenian Boxing Federation did a great job! The championship was a huge success.
