The Romanian Boxing Federation is hosting the Dracula Open international boxing tournament in Braila from 15 – 24 February. Technical meeting and official draw were conducted yesterday, and today we have the first day of boxing at Polivalenta Sports Hall. Even though this tournament doesn’t have a long tradition as other Romanian tournaments, it became one of the best boxing events organized for youth, junior and school age boxers. That confirms the 2025 edition with 23 participating countriesand as many as 423 boxers.

Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrein, Bulgaria, England, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Palestine, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan take part in the Dracula Open. Regarding the age groups numbers, there are 153 youth boxers (110 men and 43 women), 188 junior boxers (150 boys and 38 girls), and 82 boxers among school age (58 boys and 24 girls).
Boxing starts today, and it will last until 23 February, when we are going to have youth men’s and women’s finals. Departure day is 24 February.
The EUBC Technical Delegate is Mr. Igor Biletskyi from Ukraine, one of the most experienced boxing officials in Europe. Mr. Biletskyi is ex high level referee and judge, and now the Technical Delegate and R&J Evaluator, who was a participant of many major competitions during his career, including the Olympic Games.
The LOC, Romanian Boxing Federation, proved its skills and abilities throughout the years, organizing numerous international events, tournaments but also continental championships. Therefore, it is expected that Dracula Open 2025 will be organized at a high level.
