After 7 years of hard work and building the knowledge of boxing, Malta is now ready to take another important step forward. 1 world youth championships in 2022 and 3 EUBC Championships in 2023 reaching a bronze medal in the 51kg Elite men and Silver medal in 63kg U22 women gave the signal that is time for the next chapter. 2024 started with several new coaches joining the course to update themselves and with a great number of new boxers. This number is growing now constantly as the work done diligently and in silence is paying off. 2 great events already done in January and February 2024, having local fighters challenging between gyms and our National team boxers Making a great Elite debut with a stunning victory in front of their own people. Dyson Schembri and Bradley Mula. Italy and Hungary came to fight in January with special guests from the Malta Olympic Committee the Director of Sport Charlene Attard and Secretary General Kevin Azzopardi. Cyprus traveled in February with a team of 3, ending 2-1 for Malta. In this occasion the Vice President of Cyprus Georgios Yerolomides and Malta’s Secretary General/Head Coach Gabriele Martelli, signed a cooperation agreement between the 2 Federations and presented it in a quick ceremony in the ring.
The major goal is now the EUBC Elite where will attend the biggest team since ever with 3 Coaches and 4 boxers.
For the first time Malta has a yearly schedule of local events wishing to have more countries to participate.
