After ten days of boxing and 352 bouts, the EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships in Ploiesti came to an end with success. Twenty-six new champions, thirteen boys and thirteen among girls, were crowned in Romania, a country that organized the same event four years ago. The final program was divided in two sessions, starting at 1 pm and 5:30 pm in the Olimpia Sports Hall on July 30.
A large number of local boxing fans came to support Romanian boxers, three girls and two boys who managed to reach finals at this prestigious competition. The atmosphere at the venue was really great, which was expected for the grand finale.
At the end, the most successful team of the Championships is Ukraine. They won eight gold medals, as six of the girls and two boys won their final bouts. Following country is England with seven golds, four gold medals among the boys and three among the girls, while the third place went to the team Armenia.
The best male boxer is Fabian Stroe from Romania, who boxed in the light bantamweight category and the best female boxer is bantamweight Mandziuk Mariia from Ukraine. The best referee of the Championships is Anar Nagdiyev from Azerbaijan.
