City of Sombor in Serbia is hosting the 14th Nations Cupinternational boxing tournament. Women in all four age groups will compete at this event. Boxing starts today, and it will last until 19 January. The edition 2025 has 93 boxersfrom 15 countries. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, England, IBA Neutral, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Albania, Slovenia, Greece, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Slovakia are the countries participating in Sombor.
The most boxers are in the junior age group (35), then among the youth (27). There are 20 elite women boxers, and 5 among schoolgirls. Boxing will start at 4 pm every day except the finals, which will start at 5 pm. The venue of the competition is Mostonga Sports Hall.
Teams with the most boxers are Kazakhstan (22) and Russia (20), while the host nation participates with 19 boxers. Team England will compete with 10 boxers, and Croatia has 7 athletes.
The 14th Nations Cup is the first international boxing tournament in the calendar of the European Boxing Confederation in the year 2025. This will be good preparation for the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships which is on program at the beginning of March in Serbia.
