The Balkan Boxing Championships Loznica 2024 is almost finished. Competition started with the technical meeting and official draw on 17 November, and the last day, actually elite men’s and women’s final bouts, is today. Program will be divided in two sessions, first will start at 1.30 pm and second at 4 pm. All the bouts from LagatorSports Hall will be broadcasted on the Arena Fight TV.
Final bouts among juniors were held on 21 november. There were sixteen contests, four among junior girls and twelve among junior boys. Junior girls’ titles were shared between boxers from Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia. Regarding the junior boys, Serbia has four champions, while Romania has three gold medalists. Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova and Montenegro have one Balkan champion each.
Regarding the youth finals held yesterday, spectators were able to watch eighteen contests, six among youth women and twelve among youth men. It is an interesting fact that team Ukraine had representatives in all youth finals. In the women’s part of the competition, Ukraine won four gold medals, while Serbia managed to win the 50 kg final, and Bulgaria did the same in the 81 kg weight category. In the men’s part of the competition, Ukraine won ten gold medals, while the two boxers who defeated their opponents from Ukraine were Angel Martinov Samuilov from Bulgaria and Besian Karaj from Albania.
