Second day of the finals in Budva, Montenegro is completed. There were twelve bouts on yesterday’s program, six among women and six among men. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan won the most bouts, achieving three gold medals each, while the champions also had China, Ireland, DPR Korea, Russia and Turkey.
This was a very massive competition, with 74 participating nations and 593 boxers. Boxing started on 23 October, and lasted until 3 November. The Montenegro Boxing Association again organized a major competition on the very high level. The International Boxing Association supported this championships, covering accommodation expenses for all participants, and securing the prize money for the best eight boxers in every weight class.
Kazakhstan is the most successful team with six gold medals, one silver and ten bronze. Team number two is Uzbekistan with five gold medals, five silver medals and one bronze medal, while the third place went to Russia, with five gold medals, two silver and one bronze medal.
The best male boxer is Kazakh Sabyrkhan Torekhan, who boxed in the 67 kg weight category, and the best female boxer is Valeria Pizarro Amparan from Mexico, who boxed in the 48 kg weight category. The best R&J of the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships is JovanaUgrenovic from Serbia.
