36 European national federations, out of 43 eligible, were present at the EUBC Ordinary
Congress which was held today in Budva, Montenegro. Mr Alexander Klemenko, the
President of the Montenegro Boxing Association, welcomed all participants and wished
them a pleasant stay in the city on the Adriatic Sea. The meeting was led by the EUBC
lawyer Mr Alessandro Oliveiro.
All articles were adopted unanimously, including the President’s report, Ethics
Committee report and Financial report. Mr Chris Roberts, the IBA Secretary General and
CEO, had a presentation on the IBA vision and strategy, and besides him the speakers
were also Mr Maxim Certicovtev, the EUBC Competition Committee Chair, Mr Nenad
Borovcanin, the Serbian Boxing Federation President and Mr Gabriele Martelli, the IBA
Coaches Committee Chair.
‘I am happy and satisfied that we had so many delegates at this Ordinary Congress, and
even more happy because all points were adopted unanimously,’ stated Dr Ioannis
Filippatos, the EUBC President. ‘We fully support the IBA in this crucial moment, and it is
very important for our European boxing family to be and to stay united.’
