248 boxers, 124 among men and 124 among women, from 69 countries took part in the boxing tournament of the Paris Olympic games. Boxing event lasted fifteen days, and Europe was represented by 90 boxers from 26 countries. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine had their representatives at the Olympics’ boxing tournament.

At the end, two gold medals out of thirteen belong to European boxers, since Kellie Harrington from Ireland managed to win her second Olympic gold, and OleksandrKhyzhniak from Ukraine, Tokyo Olympics silver medallist, won the gold medal this time.

Our continent has as many as seven vice-champions of the Olympic games, three among women and four among men. Silver medalists in the women’s competition are Buse NazCakiroglu and Akbas Hatice from Turkey, and Julia Szeremeta from Poland. In the men’s part of the tournament vice-champions are Bennama Bilal and Sofiane Oumiha from France, Alfonso Dominguez Loren Berto from Azerbaijan, and Ayoub Ghadfa from Spain.

Boxers from Europe won altogether sixteen medals. Besides two gold and seven silver, seven more bronze medals went to the Old continent. Esra Yildiz (Turkey), Javier Ibanez Diaz (Bulgaria), Lasha Guruli (Georgia), Lewis Richardson (Great Britain), Emmanuel Reyes Pla(Spain), Nelvie Tiafack (Germany) and Djamili-Dini Aboudou (France) took third place.
