The EUBC Schoolboys & Schoolgirls European Boxing Championships is undergoing in Banja Luka. Today is day five of the competition, and all the girls’ medal winners are known, since yesterday quarterfinals bouts were on programme. Nineteen countries secured medals in the women part of the competition. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia and Turkey have their boxers in the semifinals, which will be boxed on 8 August.
The most successful women’s team up to now is Russia. They secured eight medals. Second place at this moment is team Ireland with six medals. Georgia and Italy have five medallists each, while Azerbaijan, England and Turkeyhave four semifinalists each. Poland has three medals secured, and Greece and Serbia have two medals each. At this competition, girls box in thirteen weight categories, from 36 kg up to 70 kg.
Today is the fifth day of the competition, and men’s quarterfinals bouts are on programme. Boxing in the BorikSports Hall will start at 3 pm and 6 pm. The same as every day, all the fights will be streamed live on the EUBCofficial YouTube channel.
