Oleksandr Khyzhniak from Ukraine, European and world champion, and Olympic vice champion, won his bout in the semifinals of the Paris Olympic, and he will fight in his second Olympics finals. Yesterday Khyzhniak was better than Cuban Arlen Lopez by split decision, and on 7 August he will face Nurbek Oralbay from Kazakhstan. Team Ukraine had three boxers at this competition, but only strong light heavyweight succeeded to win medal.
It was day nine on boxing tournament in Paris. Europe was represented by twelve boxers, six men and six women. Besides Oleksandr Khyzhniak, six more boxers won their contests and won the pass for semifinals or finals.
Finalists of the Olympic games in Paris became: HaticeAkbas from Turkey, boxing in the 54 kg, Alfonso Dominguez Loren Berto from Azerbaijan, who box in the 92 kg, and two brilliant Frenchmen Bennama Billal and Sofiane Oumiha, who fight in the 51 kg and 63,5 kg weight categories.
Esra Yildiz from Turkey, and Julia Szeremeta from Poland also won their quarterfinals fights. They secured bronze medals in Paris, and they will climb into the ring again on 10 August.
