EUBC’s next major event is going to be held in Ploiesti, the city next to the Romanian capital. The EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships will be on program from 19th – 31st of July. Over four hundred junior boys’ and girls’ boxers are registered for the event, from thirty-two countries, which is the highest number in the last five years. Boxers born in 2007 and 2008 are eligible to participate, and this is going to be 27th European Championships in this age group, with the first held in the city of Aosta, Italy in 1996, and the last in Montesilvano, Italy last year.
The host country Federation is very experienced in organizing big events. Besides that, the Romanian Boxing Federation organizes many international tournaments every year. They held the same event in 2019, with exactly four hundred boxers.
The last edition, held in Montesilvano, gathered 353 boxers, 119 girls and 234 boys. The most successful team in Montesilvano was England with four champions. Second place went to Greece, who has won three gold medals, while the third place went to the team Ireland.
The EUBC Technical Delegate at this event is going to be Mr. Dragoljub Radovic from Montenegro, who will have the opportunity to lead the Europeans for the seventh time. The event promises to be extremely well-organized and full of great bouts and action.
