Traditionally one of the strongest youth tournaments worldwide, the 32nd Adriatic Pearl, is ongoing in Budva, Montenegro. This competition started on March 13th, and the finals will be held on March 19th. For the first time in history, this tournament has the label of the Youth World Boxing Cup, which is proved by the participation of some of the greatest boxing nations in the world. Teams such as Cuba, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Brasil, Turkey, etc, will satisfy all the local boxing fans, but also many others who will follow the bouts by live streaming.
This six-day competition is organised in the luxury hotel Splendid, which is located on the Adriatic Coast. The Montenegro Boxing Association placed the tournament in this hotel in 2022, which turned out to be the best move. The truly spectacular venue, and overall conditions, made a huge impact on the reputation of the tournament.
The 2023 edition gathered 176 boxers from 23 countries. 55 women boxers and 121 men from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cuba, France, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Moldova, Mexico, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden and Turkey, are fighting for the gold medals. The Youth World Boxing Cup Adriatic Pearl is an excellent check for the youth age boxers, who are going to box at the EUBC Youth European Boxing Championships in Yerevan next month.
