The 18-year-old Albanian had a tough opponent in the Round of 32, Turkey’s Selahattin Cinbulak who had a brave attempt to beat Zeneli on Day3. The Albanian, who came from a boxing family, switched his tempo in the beginning of the second round and that moment was decisive against the Turkish National Champion.
The surprise of the day
Croatia’s Anthony Mirkovic moved down to the light heavyweight (80kg) following his national title and he received the right to represent his nation at the Youth World Boxing Championships. The Croatian was not enough experienced in the international events prior the championships but he had an energetic performance against Bulgaria’s Zhan-Bozhidar Siderov on Day3. Mirkovic landed the better punches and he worked well enough until the very last moments to win the entire contest.
